Today was quite the day for the tropics. Two areas of interest over the past few days were deemed Tropical Depressions #8 and #9. Plus, Gaston was upgraded to the first major hurricane of the Atlantic season. The good news? Gaston swings a hard east and will head out the the Atlantic Ocean instead of moving closer to the United States. Meanwhile, Tropical Depression #8 could bring a chance for a few afternoon showers tomorrow afternoon, but drier air should keep the development to a minimum. Tropical Depression #9, however, is still a mystery. One thing is certain, though, and it's that the storm has entered the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico and will likely strengthen into a tropical storm and even hurricane. It's landfall? Still a mystery. Read inside today's post to see the outlook for this week in the Sneak Peak of the Week section.
